The walkthrough

No house. One number.
On-chain.

CrimeLine is a peer-to-peer prediction market on official city data. Here's the whole thing, start to finish — from connecting a wallet to getting paid — with nothing hidden along the way.

Getting started

Four steps. That's the product.

01

Connect a Solana wallet

Phantom, Solflare or Backpack — one click, non-custodial, and your keys never leave your wallet. This works today.

02
$

Fund with USDC

Positions are opened, held and settled in USDC — a dollar-pegged stablecoin. No chips, no house balance, no cash-out queue. Plus a little SOL for network fees (fractions of a cent).

03

Pick your lines

Open the board, pick a city and a market, take over or under. Your order matches against a player on the opposite side — that's the whole trade.

04

Watch it live, settle at noon

The live counter runs all day. At noon ET the next day the official number locks, the market settles on-chain, and winnings land in your wallet automatically.

The core principle

You trade the crowd, never a house.

CrimeLine is not a sportsbook. There is no bookmaker setting odds against you and no house bankroll on the other side of your trade — just another player who reads the city differently.

How a match works

When you take over, your order sits in the market until a player takes under at the same price. Matched stakes form the pot; the settlement number decides who takes it. Prices you see — like "61% over" — are the crowd's live consensus, not odds we set.

What CrimeLine does — and never does

We do: post the lines, match orders, run the live data feed, and settle every market from the official number. For that, the protocol takes a small fee on winnings — the fee schedule is published in the rulebook.

We never: take the other side of your trade, hold your funds in a house account, set odds against you, or touch a settled result. If nobody takes the opposite side of your order, it simply doesn't match — and an unmatched order costs you nothing.

Where the numbers come from

One feed, five stops, zero discretion.

1
Police departments reportOfficial incident reports from each launch city, timestamped as they're filed throughout the day.
2
A licensed feed aggregatesOne independent, licensed data provider collects and standardizes every qualifying incident — the same feed for every player and every market.
3
The live counter updatesReported-so-far climbs all day. Reports lag real time, so the dashboard also shows a projection that runs ahead of the raw count — that's the number the market argues about.
4
Noon ET locks the numberAt a fixed time the next day, the snapshot is taken: raw counts for count markets, the severity-weighted Score for Score markets. Revisions after the snapshot don't touch settled markets.
5
Solana settles and paysThe number posts on-chain, every market resolves from it, and payouts land in USDC — automatic, instant, auditable by anyone forever.

Why you can trust the number

It's public record. Settlement data is what city police departments publish — anyone can pull the same records and check.

The provider is independent and licensed. CrimeLine cannot add, remove or edit a report, and the provider is contracted and publicly named in the rulebook before the first market opens.

Everyone sees the same feed. No premium tier, no early looks — one snapshot for every player and every market.

We have no side. The protocol earns a fee on winnings whichever way the number lands — there is nothing for us to gain from over or under.

And it's all checkable. Every settlement number is sealed on Solana; if the feed ever fails, markets void and stakes refund in full.

The rails

Why it runs on Solana.

Non-custodial

Your funds sit in your wallet until an order matches, and payouts return straight to it. CrimeLine never holds a balance for you.

$

USDC native

Everything is denominated in USDC, so your stake and your winnings are dollar-stable — the market risk you take is the line, not the currency.

Fast & near-free

Solana confirms in seconds for fractions of a cent — placing a position and receiving a payout both feel instant.

Auditable forever

Settlement numbers and payouts are public on-chain records. Anyone can verify any market, any day, without trusting us.

Where we are

Devnet beta — nothing is live yet.

CrimeLine is being built and tested on Solana devnet. Connecting your wallet today links your address for early access — no transaction is made, nothing is signed, and no funds can move. Real markets open only after audit, on mainnet, where permitted by law.

Questions

Asked & answered.

Is this betting on crime happening to people?
No. CrimeLine markets trade on aggregate, publicly-reported city statistics — the same totals cities publish in open-data portals and year-end reports. No market ever references an individual, an address, or a specific event, and nothing on CrimeLine affects what happens in a city. It's the same relationship a weather market has to rain.
Which wallets are supported?
Phantom, Solflare and Backpack connect today — on desktop and in their mobile in-app browsers. If you don't have one, the connect dialog links you to the official downloads. Your wallet stays non-custodial: CrimeLine can see your public address and nothing else.
Do I need SOL if everything is in USDC?
A little. Positions and payouts are in USDC, but Solana network fees are paid in SOL — typically fractions of a cent per transaction. A few dollars of SOL covers months of trading.
When do markets go live?
After the devnet beta and an independent audit. The sequence is: devnet beta (now) → audited mainnet deployment → first cohort boards on the ten launch cities. Connected wallets are first in line. Follow @CrimeLineMarket for the countdown.
What happens if the data feed goes down?
Markets have explicit void-and-refund rules — if the licensed feed can't produce a settlement number for a city by the deadline, that city's markets void and stakes return in full. The exact finality, void and tie rules are in the rulebook.
How does CrimeLine make money if there's no house?
A small fee on winnings — charged only when you win a matched market, never on deposits, unmatched orders or refunds. The protocol earns from volume, not from your losses, so it has no stake in which side wins.
Who can play?
When markets open: 18+, subject to eligibility, identity verification and applicable law, and not available where prohibited. The beta preview and wallet linking are open to everyone.
